Sardinia is a place of contrasts, offering much more than just its famous beaches and azure waters. During my recent visit, I focused on uncovering a different side of this extraordinary island – the small towns, their narrow streets, and unique architecture.
Wandering through these charming spots, you can truly feel the spirit of the past. The stone houses, narrow alleys, and quaint squares make it easy to imagine what life was like here centuries ago. Watching the locals, who still lead a tranquil, everyday life, I felt as though I was travelling back in time.
Photographing these places was an absolute delight. Every turn, every doorway of an old house held a certain magic. The colours of the buildings, ranging from soft pastels to vibrant yellows and oranges, created a picturesque contrast against the blue sky. The streets were filled with sounds – the laughter of children, the chatter of residents, and the ringing of bicycle bells.
It was these details that revealed Sardinia to me in a completely new light. Without the typical beach views, but full of life pulsing through the small, hidden towns. Walking through these places, you not only admire the beauty of the architecture but also immerse yourself in the daily lives of its inhabitants, discovering Sardinia as it truly is – rich in history, full of colour and sound, each telling its own unique story.
